Annabelle Conner - Canine Good Citizen, Therapy Dog classes
I started out my life with dogs. My father was a dog trainer and breeder. His favorite breed was the Pointer. My first dog was a Pointer that was one of his dog’s litters. I was to help train this dog for his hunting career. Being only 7 or 8 at the time, I probably didn’t help very well but it certainly gave me the training a dog bug. Since then I have had Pomeranians, standard schnauzers, and miniature schnauzers. My most recent breed is dogs from the bichon family groups. I have two bichon frises’ and one bichon havanese. All three have AKC CD’s and the havanese, Mitchell is working on advanced titles. I have also participated in rally and have rally novice titles on two out of three dogs. One of the things though I am most proud of is that all three of my dogs are therapy dogs. I have actively been involved in Therapy Dog International for the past 10 years. It has been a very rewarding experience and I really enjoy helping others learn handling skills for therapy work so they too can enjoy the work as much as I do.
