At Positively Canine, we welcome the entire family. Spouses and significant others are welcome at class, as are older children, and supervised, younger children. Kids can make great trainers, and can learn much in class. For this reason, we do not place an absolute age limit on children allowed to come to class, However, for the sake of safety, children must be mature enough to:
- follow directions and be physically capable of performing the tasks at hand. Except in Kid Only classes, parents must be present and able to take over on tasks too difficult for the child. The child may work on the behaviors at home.
- refrain from disrupting the class.
- be able to participate, watch quietly or have a separate adult in class to keep them occupied.
- Any dog working on a fear or aggression issue, or too large for the child to safely handle may not be handled by a child.
-
At the instructor's discretion, a child may not be allowed to handle a dog in situations the instructor deems unsafe. Children must respect all the dogs in class and not approach any dog without permission from the dog's owner and the instructor.
-
Any child who can not follow the class rules may be asked to leave at any time. No refunds will be given.
