Training for the whole family

Gracie, one of our satisfied customers

Sandy Case has been my friend, client and behavioral adviser for over 10 years.

As a veterinarian, I find that most clients need and want assistance and guidance in training their dog to be a great companion and friend.  Like most veterinarians, I have little formal training and only my own experience in training my personal pets over the years. As a profession we are woefully ill-prepared to address the wide variety of behavioral issues that face our clients.

Sandy Case has helped me work with my own wild bloodhound mix, Bingo and has generously helped advise and train our kennel staff on working with pets in a kennel situation. She has also advised our nursing staff on use of the T-Touch methods of calming pets placed in stressful situations such as a veterinary visit.

My staff and I routinely refer clients in need of help with behavior and training issues to Sandy for consultation. I am completely confident in Sandy’s knowledge and abilities and my clients have been very happy with her help and guidance. She has always shown the utmost care for the pets she helps and her training methods are kind and gentle, never forceful or  demanding.

She is both knowledgeable and kind and I admire her abilities and her dedication to the animals that she trains. I have recommended Sandy for years and will continue to do so as she expands into her new facilities.  She is truly exceptional in her dedication and abilities.

As a student of the Animal Behavior College, I was paired with Sandy and Positively Canine for the internship part of the program.  What a blessing!  Let me explain…
Prior to enrolling in the ABC program, my husband and I had taken our Tibetan Terriers to group obedience classes closer to our home.  It consisted of using food lures, leash corrections and the physical placement of dogs in the desired positions.  You can imagine my excitement after studying the philosophy and instructions of positive reinforcement.  But the real excitement came after attending Sandy’s classes with one of my TT’s and seeing her enjoy using her brain to problem solve and receiving rewards for her efforts.  I cannot express enough how valuable this training has been for our family.  It was well worth the drive to Oklahoma City.
Thank you, Sandy!

Sandy Case has been training dogs in our facility, Mustang Animal Health Clinic, for five years. She is an excellent teacher and trainer and we are pleased and proud to recommend our clients to her classes. We have had the opportunity to observe and participate in her classes and receive feedback from her students. Everything I have seen and heard about her teaching and training has been extremely positive. Sandy Case, like any other dedicated professional, continues to study, learn, and then share this information with her students. She is committed to increasing the human-animal bond by increasing the positive communication between us and our pets. I can highly recommend her classes for anyone wishing to increase this positive communication and have a better relationship with their four-legged friends.
Sincerely,

Sandy -

I wanted to let you know that Abby and Sydney both competed in their
first agility trial with TDAA (Teacup Dog Agility) this past weekend.
They did GREAT!  I was so very proud!  Here is how they did:

Agility Games I
Tag Ten:  Abby 3rd Pl and Q; Sydney 2nd Pl and Q
Gamblers:  Abby 1st Pl and Q; Sydney 1st Pl and Q
Steeplechase:  Abby 1st Pl and Q; Sydney 2nd Pl and Q
Earning BOTH of them their first agility TITLE!  Games I!!!

Standard Agility - Beginners
Sydney - Earned Two legs of her Title!  (one to go for Standard
Beginners title!)
Abby - Earned One leg of her Title!

9 Q's and 2 Titles - 1 Weekend

None of this would have been possible without the great training we
started with you!  Who would have thought that little Sydney, who barked
incestantly through an ENTIRE class after class, would ever be able to
go to an indoor agility competition and have 6 CLEAN RUNS?!?!  (The
Control Unleashed class changed everything for us!)  Not only did the
girls do wonderfully, during the trial, but I also received several
personal compliments on how patient and calm I was with them!  WOW!  Me?
Calm?  Patient?  During my FIRST competition EVER?  AMAZING!  I am so
proud!  It was a very rewarding weekend!

Again, none of that would have been possible without the solid, positive
foundation that we built with you!  Thank you from the bottom of my
heart!  My life has been truly enriched by the opportunity to learn,
grow and strengthen my relationship with my two dogs - all through
awesome, positive training!

Thank you, Sandy -

By the way, Copper got her AKC Novice Standard and Jumpers agility titles a few weekends ago!!! She was a mess before we started Rally classes, and I truly believe that we could not have done it without those classes to help her focus and confidence, while also improving my handling skills. Thank you so much for that!!!!

Sandy I just wanted to thank you for your words of wisdom tonight. You really are amazing and I think you should start a class for folks like me who need training as much as their dogs. This is the first dog that I've "trained" so lots to learn. You don't know how much I appreciate you!!!

I absolutely LOVE both of the classes Lewis and I are taking.  Sandy is extremely knowledgeable in training and I love that her training methods do NOT call for jerking or pinching.  I look forward to many years of continued training at Positively Canine.  I've been amazed at how responsive Lewis has gotten since starting the training there.  Just AMAZING to me!  :-D

See you Wednesday!

I have taken several classes from Sandy .  My Brittany is a pretty "soft" dog and the positive approach to training is right for her.  I always enjoy attending the school.  Sandy also provided some private coaching before our obedience debut at the American Brittany Nationals in Ft Smith, Arkansas.  The coaching was very successful!  Macy achieved a first place in Rally Advanced and a second place in Novice Obedience.  Without Sandy's help, we never would have achieved what we did!  Sandy has also given me great ideas to incorporate in training for pointing dog hunt tests.   No other school in the OKC area offers both a positive approach and the proven results that Positively Canine does.  Your dog will thank you!!!

I am someone who has owned dogs all my life and thought I knew a lot. HA! Topper has humbled me. I got her when she was 6 weeks old and, of course, fell in love.

She proceeded to snap at all strangers, chew up everything within reach; including the siding and lawn furniture. She dug up the entire yard, barked continuously, chased the sheep, killed the chickens, would run madly and knock me down, bite at my hands and even draw blood!!

I tried a shock collar, bark collar, hot pepper on the chickens, a class for aggressive dogs-and nothing worked

One day I just sat in the yard and cried. I had decided to put her down-but I just couldn't do it! So we suffered through a terrible year.

Then "Positively Canine" came into my life. It was a miracle!! The clicker training worked!! The positive approach worked!!! TTouch was wonderful!!!  In just a few weeks Topper would allow Sandy to touch her. Now Sandy gets lots of Topper kisses.

Topper has become a confident, well balanced, loving member of society. And I have learned more in these past few months than in all my years of dog ownership. Thank you Sandy!!!

Ruby, our beautiful Sheltie, is a changed dog!  The day we got Ruby we discovered she was afraid of every sound, everyone and everything.  If you made a move to pet her, she would duck and slink away, as if she was going to be hit.  Every house noise, even opening the refrigerator door caused her to run underneath an end table or back to our bedroom to her crate.  Outside, walking her in the park was a battle because she was so afraid of people passing by. In the backyard, she was afraid of the sounds of traffic and would hide deep in the bushes, alone. At first we had to leash her to go outside to do her business, because if we didn’t we would have to chase and corner her to bring her back in the house.  We had never dealt with this type of behavior with a dog and after some research found Positively Canine.  When we had our first meeting with Sandy Case, Ruby would not go near her. She didn’t learn anything that first day……but we did.  After 3 one-on-one classes with Sandy, then 7 classes with Laura Ormsby, by the last day, Ruby was playing with Laura’s daughter Kaity and laying on her back letting her rub her tummy.  She would go right up to Laura and sniff her hand without an invite. However, more importantly, she now trusts us and we couldn’t be more thankful.  Positively Canine taught us things such as tethering her with us for hours during the day, showing Ruby that she had nothing to fear from us or the noises around her and teaching us that letting her stay in her safe places alone would not teach her to trust us.  We learned that doing this took the decision making away from Ruby, which helped her to begin to trust that we had her best interest in mind.  Mainly, Positively Canine helped us to teach Ruby that we were part of her “pack” and she truly loves and adores us now.  She still has a little initial suspicion of new people, she is not crazy about loud unknown noises, but she trusts us, loves walking in the park, and has not been in the bushes or in her crate in a long time.  Thanks again Sandy, Laura & Kaity!!!

Hey Sandy,

I just wanted to let you know that Elvis is doing great with his training.  I'm so excited.  The "leave it" skill is working to keep him away from the furniture.  I was even able to put out 2 of my rugs that I had put up.  The "Kong" toy is fantastic too.  I wish someone had told me about that earlier.  I put that with use in the bathroom when I'm getting dressed and he plays with that instead of scratching the wall.

Thank you so much for helping me to get control of Elvis.  I wish I had found you before I went to (another local dog training school - edited).  You did more for me in that one hour than the 3 sessions I attended.  And Elvis was so much happier with you.  He could tell you liked him so he responded.  I will definitely recommend you to everyone!!

Thanks again,

Tammy
